Cybersecurity IT System Defense
This is a two part professional development course which teaches students, through lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and hands on exercises, the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the area of Cybersecurity. It is a study and exploration of the risk, vulnerabilities, and threats to the security of IT Systems—hardware and software—from the basics of network defense, access control to the controls necessary to ensure privacy, confidentiality, availability of systems, and the integrity of data.
It introduces concepts of networking, access control, and configuration of firewalls, routers and switches, as well as virtualization. It also introduces the simple and advanced concepts that underlie today’s cyber security challenges.
